My Tips for Face Book Games by Zinga

Farmville

This is one game I did not expect to like, but wound up being the one I played the most. It also is the game I have the most neighbors on. Farmville is easy to play with it's nice graphical interface, compared to it's brother Mafia Wars.

Currently I'm a level 40

It's just too easy to keep clicking the button. Click click click. I'm glad they have limited how big the farms can get. I would probably just keep on clicking if the board was bigger.

Tip # 1 - Make sure to plow your first square into the corner of the farm on the bottom of the screen. As you expand your farm you will not be able to utilize all the field area if this first tile is not in the correct place. Also when this tile is out of place it creates a domino effect for all the other tiles to be out of place.

Tip # 2 - Grow the right crops. Especially in the beginning when you need money and experience, you should grown the best crop for your time schedule. I found that the 8 hour and the 1 day crops are best for me.

The reason for this is each time I plant a 1 day crop I get a little further into the night. Eventually it gets too late to harvest, so I need to do a "Crop Rotation". This is when I plant an 8 hour crop and harvest it in the morning. I can do this for a few days until it's will be too late to harvest again, but this time it's in the morning, so I will rotate my crops to a 12 hour crop. The next time I go to harvest I can plant my 1 day crop again, and grow this crop until it gets too late again, and I start over with the rotation.

Having a mastery in a specific crop helps you gain experience. The way this happens is once you have achieved all 3 stars in a crop, you get random extra experience points for harvesting that crop.

I started with Strawberries and Pumpkins. Then I moved to Grapes. This is where I got my first mastery.

 

I grew grapes until I was able to grow Peas. Now I have my mastery in Peas where I get 3 XP for planting and a random 2 XP for harvesting. So up to 5 XP per tile. I'm telling you this because I blew past most of the other people I'm neighbors with. So I feel this is a good strategy to move up quickly through experience levels of Farmville.

Tip # 3 - Block your character in. This will make everything move a little faster for you & your neighbors. If your little guy can't get past the barrier, then the game will just do the job. Otherwise you have to wait while he walks to each square or to some other part of the field. Also this will benefit your friends who visit your farm to fertilize your crops. The same applies for them. So if they fertilize your crops on the side of the field they have to wait for the farmer to walk all the way over there to begin. If he is trapped the tile is almost instantly completed.

Tip # 4 - Free Gas Week. Make sure to fill your tanks! There is a great way to get free gas in Farmville. The way to do this is with the 1/5 tanks of gas. If you hold off on using any gas, or when the conditions are right you can get a free 4/5 tank of gas. Every time you use the tank of gas, it slowly refills by the next day. If you have a full tank of gas, then you add the 1/5 tank, the free refill you normally get will fill this tank of gas. Then you will have 2 tanks of gas. Once the tank is full again, or once 1/5 tank will be more than one tank, add the 1/5 tank and let the tank begin filling.

Tip # 5 - Golden Eggs - You should rearrange your chicken coop to hold all of your special chickens, before the white chickens.
